The direct message is that smoking has a big impact on the people around you. Its also telling you too stop smoking. The indirect message is that if you smoke you child could suffer the consequences just as much as you. Smoking does not only effect you it gets other people sick and puts them in a possibly life threating situation. I like this add particularly because my grand father and great grand father both died from lung related diseases and they did not smoke. That shows that it is dangerous to anyone that is near a smoker. This also is directed at men because stereo typically more men smoke than women.So it makes it a more effective add.

This is a very good choice for an ad and you wrote about it very well. I like how you told a story about your grand father and great grand father it's a good way to make your response more effective. I also liked what you said about the male stereo type with smoking because it is a true thing. You chose something that is a big issue and expressed how dangerous it can be to everyone and yourself. Although it is a big problem you could have chosen another ad because other people have talked about smoking in the past. Overall I still think it is a good post but you can expand your options.
