The direct message is that smoking has a big impact on the people around you. Its also telling you too stop smoking. The indirect message is that if you smoke you child could suffer the consequences just as much as you. Smoking does not only effect you it gets other people sick and puts them in a possibly life threating situation. I like this add particularly because my grand father and great grand father both died from lung related diseases and they did not smoke. That shows that it is dangerous to anyone that is near a smoker. This also is directed at men because stereo typically more men smoke than women.So it makes it a more effective add.

Candy Battle

     Starburst are the best candy because their taste are better and stronger. When you are eating a starburst the flavor last a long time there fore allowing you to eat them for a long time. You also wont want to stop eating starburst because they taste amazing and their will be at least one flavor you love.
     Also the variety of the flavors is grater then other brands such as M&Ms.This makes it more likely you will like starburst because there are more of them to choose from. Where as M&Ms if you don't like chocolate you will hate all M&Ms.
     Starburst are also good value. They are not a big company that promotes things and has commercials and stuff like that so starburst have to keep their prices low to ensure people will buy it. But even though they are cheap they do not cheat you with bad quality ingredients because they are made with real fruit juices.
     advocates of M&Ms say that their candy is the best because it is not sticky but this is totally false statement. Chocolate actually melts in your mouth because it melts at around 87F and when chocolate melts we all knows it gets sticky. But starburst do not melt at such mild temperatures and are never sticky.

OIL DRILLING

I believe that the Bahamian government and people should be more open to the idea of oil drilling in the Bahamas. The Bahamas Petroleum or BPC believe that there is oil in the great Bahama bank. We need to take the opportunity while it is here because we may never get the chance to drill again. Oil drilling could renew the Bahamian economy and make us one of the richest countries in the world. The Bahamas has debt that’s piled up and it is only growing. Government borrowings rose to 53 percent of gross domestic product last year from 32 percent in 2007. This shows the seriousness of the debt problem in the Bahamas. . The government is soon going to make us pay 10 to 15% VAT on everything we buy and work for. Do you want everything to get 10 to 15% more expensive? We could stop this by allowing oil drilling in the Bahamas .The oil drilling in the U.A.E has made the one of the richest countries in the world. They have built the tallest building in the world and an entire chain of islands off the shore of Dubai. Imagine what we could do with this new found wealth. Maybe we could fix the roads, improve our infrastructure, or make gas cheaper. We NEED change from our weakening tourism based economy to more stable oil based economy.



Types of appeal

The intended audience is people who eat fast food. My evidence is it has picture of a fast food restaurant logo on it. The purpose is to make you think twice about eating fast food because it is bad for your health. The persuasive appeal is pathos because it uses strong emotionally charged words such as "kill" and "hating".
